What are Toxins?

Toxins are fat-soluble substances that have harmful effects on the body. When the liver is unable to keep up with their removal, this is known as toxic burden.

Symptoms of toxin burden include brain fog, difficulty losing weight, digestive problems, elevated cholesterol, fatigue, frequent colds or flu, headaches, hormone imbalances, irritability, nasal or sinus congestion, skin issues (such as breakouts, eczema, and redness), and sugar cravings.

Lifestyle changes can help flush out waste and toxins. Drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water each day and taking ten deep breaths a day can eliminate 3.2 pounds of toxins per week. Due to the buildup of toxins, many health care professionals recommend implementing a detox program multiple times a year to keep the liver working at full speed.

The problem with many of these programs is they start with phase one that can lead to individuals feeling worse than when they began the detoxification program. Providing key macronutrients and phytonutrients to maintain healthy phase one and phase two, can stimulate liver biotransformation and eliminate excess toxins from your system without causing widespread free radical damage and severe detoxication reactions.

Remember these programs can interact with certain medications and health conditions, so consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new program.
